Dental Crowns
There are a lot of factors that can destroy or weaken our natural teeth. A crown or otherwise known as a cap is made to entirely cover the natural teeth to protect and improve the teeth’s appearance , shape and alignment.
The crown comes in different shades that matches the natural shade of the tooth. It’s also made in various materials such as , ceramic, acrylic, stainless steel, metal alloy and gold. It is fixed by cement onto the existing teeth or implant and can only be removed by the dentist.
One may require a dental crown to restore an already damaged tooth, replace a large filling when there is not enough tooth remaining, cover a dental implant, and cover a tooth that has had root canal treatment.
It is expected to last a lifetime considering that good oral hygiene is being practiced. It may come loose or fall out if the underlying tooth is damaged by gum disease or tooth decay. Due to this, it is important to have regular check up with your dentist and do professional dental cleaning to ensure that optimum oral health is always met.
